Labelling of special products and services

Supplement to the Shipping Guideline

In order to ensure a smooth processing of all parcels, all necessary parcel labels and forms have to be filled in completely and clearly. In principle, all relevant parcel labels are to be placed on the largest side of the parcel. You can find further information in our packaging and shipping guidelines.

Cash-Service

For dispatch of your Cash-Service parcels use the special parcel labels with the number range xx71 yyyyyyy:

Important:
It is absolutely necessary to make sure that on the parcel label the amount is given once with numbers and once with letters, in order to ensure the smooth delivery of the parcels and the bank transfer of the cash amount.

Please do not forget to enter the currency code. The indication of the reason of payment is recommended.

Accessorily mark your Cash-Service parcels with this additional sticker:

In case you generate your parcel stickers for the Cash-Service using the GLS dispatch system*, the additional sticker is not necessary.

Euro Business-Parcel

For the dispatch of export parcels (max. weight = 50 kg) please use this additional sticker:

Please indicate the country code besides the zip code.

When using the GLS dispatch system for your export parcels you generate parcel labels with all necessary information*.



HazardousGoods-Service

GLS provides exclusively in the national traffic of Germany on the basis of the current Dangerous Goods Regulations the shipment of hazardous goods in the following classes:

  • Class 2 - classification codes 1-3, 4F (int. al. compressed fluid, frozen gases and compressed gas in solution), toxic gases
  • Class 3 - no exclusions
  • Class 4.1 - all self-reactive (SR) and readily combustible solids (FO)
  • Class 5.1 - Packaging group I und special materials inducing dangerous reactions (int. al. classification codes O3, OT 1, OF, OS, OW, OTC)
  • Class 8 - no exclusions
  • Class 9 - classification codes M1 to M3, M8 and M10


For the shipment of hazardous goods the following additional sticker is to be used in addition to the standard GLS parcel label:

In case you generate your parcel stickers for the HazardousGoods-Service using the GLS dispatch system*, the additional sticker is not necessary.

Irrespective of this the relevant legal regulations concerning the marking, declaration and packing are to be observed. A transport document is to be handed over as well.

If obligatorily identifiable hazardous goods are not indicated, GLS Germany reserves the right to claim for compensation in case of damages.

In order to send safely, the safety officers in our depots are at your disposal.
