Is there a weight limit for ParcelShop or Easy-Start parcels?
Yes, the maximum weight allowed is 40 kg.
Is there a maximum size for ParcelShop or Easy-Start parcels?
The girth (circumference of the parcel plus longest side) must not exceed 3 m, and the following size and weight restrictions apply: a maximum length of 2 m, a maximum height of 0.6 m and a maximum width of 0.8 m.
Why does the price of ParcelShop and Easy-Start parcels depend on the size and not on the weight of the parcel?
The price calculation by the parcel size is easy and transparent. The customer can identify the price easily and does not need a scale.
To which countries can I send ParcelShop or Easy-Start parcels?
ParcelShop or Easy-Start parcels can be sent to all countries of the European Union, except Greece, Channel Islands, Vatican State, San Marino, Monaco, Cyprus, Malta, and all European islands (except Great Britain and Ireland).
Within which time period will the parcels arrive at the consignee?
Parcels within Germany will be delivered in a standard delivery time of less than 24 hours. Parcels within the European Union will reach their destination in a standard delivery time of 24-96 hours.
Does the transport tariff include an insurance?
Yes, each parcel is insured up to maximal 750.00 Euro.
Is it correct that I can track the way of my parcel via internet?
Yes, it is very easy. Just enter the parcel number on your receipt into our online track and trace and you can track the complete route of your parcel to the recipient.
Is it possible to send an express or cash service parcel via ParcelShops or Easy-Start?
No, the dispatch of express or cash service parcels isn’t possible via GLS ParcelShops and GLS Easy-Start.
What happens, if the consignee isn’t at home?
If the consignee is not at home and the parcel cannot be delivered at the neighbour the parcel will be delivered at the nearest GLS ParcelShop. The consignee gets a notification card about the attempted delivery. If the parcel has been delivered at the GLS ParcelShop, the consignee has the possibility to pick up his parcel in the GLS ParcelShop within 10 working days by presenting the notification card and his identity card.
What do I have to consider while packing and labelling my ParcelShop or Easy-Start parcel?

As parcel consignee, can I give GLS a permission to deposit, in case I will not be present at home?
Yes, if you want to get your parcels always fast and easily, give us a permission to deposit. Download the permission, fill it in and give or leave it to the GLS driver (does not apply to Switzerland).
Do I need special IT equipment for the Easy-Start online label print?
No. You do not need special device or paper. Just use your standard printer.
How is the payment process for Easy-Start parcels handled?
The payment is to be done via PayPal. You will be forwarded directly to PayPal after entering your parcel data. There you can login to your existing account or set up a new account for your online payment.
Easy-Start parcels can be paid via credit card as well. For this you will be forwarded to Deutsche Card Services for payment and be returned to the GLS Germany hompage automatically. The credit card will be charged by GLS www.gls-group.eu immediately after confirming the parcels.
What happens if the driver did not pick-up the parcel as I was not at home?
You will receive a message on your mobile phone or/and an email, informing you about the unsuccessful collection. Basically the driver will do a second parcel pick-up on the next working day. The phone number of your GLS depot is mentioned on your parcel receipt which you receive via email after completing your Easy-Start order. Please contact the depot if you want to arrange another collection date than on the next day.
