With our "Think-Green" initiative, GLS demonstrates its commitment to environment protection. A range of concrete measures across the group have been defined in order to reduce emissions, respectuflly treat and use resources and optimise our waste management, such as route optimisation in each location, use of fuel-efficient, lowemission vehicles and environmentally campatible fuel consideration of ecological criteria when building new locations, increased use of recycling paper etc.
GLS has appointed 22 environmental officers group-wide and established a regular internal control and reporting on the progress made.

Our current standard: One common barcode for the whole of Europe, scanning of each parcel at each interface, as well as status data availability online, thanks to online data transmission out of the delivery van, nearly in real-time.
With this new web portal and its expanded online functionalities in the Your-GLS area, our contract customers can benefit from a wide range of high-performing online functionalities that are setting a new standard when it comes to creating transparency.
