Fuel Surcharge

Due to the constant fluctuation of fuel prices GLS Portugal decided to introduce an indexed rate of fuel.

We have noticed an update on fuel prices over the recent years, and in order not to overload our partners we have decided to use as a benchmark for the fuel rate, the average sales price of diesel in December 2007. This figure is published on the "Dir. General for Energy and Geology" and can be checked at http://www.dgge.pt .

The fuel rate is calculated based on the reference value (average value end of December 2007), the average amount of diesel in the 1st day of each month and the impact of the value of the fuel in the cost structure of GLS Portugal , which will be around 20%.


Fuel surcharge calculation formula:
(Price on the 1st day of the current month - Reference Price (Dez 07)) / Rate to be applied x 20% = Reference Price


The rate to be applied in the month of March will be as follows:

(1,394 € - 1.179 €) / 1.179 € x 20% = 3,6%
